Starter ?

Some times when I hit the foot starter it will turn over for a couple seconds before it stop spinning the motor. But then other times it will spin the motor over until I let off the starter. The teeth on the fly wheel and starter are good. Could it be a bad starter?

Cranky Starter

It's prolly old and filthy inside with badly worn brushes~ take it off and apart , look at the mess and *gently* clean it all up , replace the brushes (there's four) with good quality ones from NAPA and grease the bushings lightly before buttoning it back up .

If it's still wonky , you only $pent $10 , take it to your Auto Electric Shop and they'll square it away .

It too could be faulty contacts in your starter switch or faulty ground wire also. Take the time to touble shoot!
