I am unable to remove steering wheel. One of the bolts broke off the last time it was pulled, and no amount of hammering has broken the steering wheel loose. Is there some other way?

Try a large 3 jaw puller. Hook it on the bottom of the wheel collar. Hopefully that will pull it off.
Good luck....

Spray some liquid wrench on the spline part of the column, let it soak for a day or so, I have had to do this as well as use a propane torch to heat it. Hope you don't mind torching your wheel...:D

Smack it with a rubber mallet while you have the puller on it. Also spray it down with PB Blaster. It works better than LW and WD-40.

Still stuck ? try the old tech , Dealer way :

Get a nut that matches the threads on the center and a bolt the same threads .

Screw the nut 1/2 way onto the shaft then screw the bolt into the nut , lock the two tightly then SMACK the end of the bolt with a large (32Oz. or larger) ballpien hammer to pop it loose ~ DO NOT tap it nor use a junky chinese hammer ! you need the shock imparted from ONE good smack to pop it loose .

If you use PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench or other penetrating oil,,, DONOT use a Flame Wrench (torch) afterward !!!
It will result in the Eternal Flame steering wheel !!

Try a standard steering wheel puller after soaking the threads for an hour or so. Harbor Freight is a good source for inexpensive tools that are used occasionly, not every day.

He Can't ~

As he said there was a bolt broken off in the hub allready....

I almost never need to use the Hot Wrench on steering wheels , some soaking and carefull attention to pulling _evenly_ usually pops off even the worst rusted ones quickly .

Don't forget to leave the nut partially on while you hit it or your teeth may pay the price.
