Looking for a better gear ration fo my 1957 and saw that a Surburban will bolt in, anyone know what years 1955 -? and what the ratios may be. Looking for clarification, I have no clue. Thanks.
If its a half ton then Its got a 3.90. You can also leave the rear end as is and put in a overdrive trans. I've used a rear end out of a 69 1/2 ton pu before, had 3.73 gears, but you have to do some cutting and welding and get the pinion angle set right. Chris
And the change from 3.90 to 3.73 isn't worth the effort unless you had some other reason the rear end needed swapping.
