Tail lamp harness

Can anyone help me. I have a wiring nightmare at my tail lamps. The previous owner wired in trailer lights and as a result my tail lamps and signals are not working properly. I want to replace the complete harness, but I see 2 of them for my 1965 Chevy truck. The tail lamp harness-front part #52-623 and tail lamp harness-rear part #52-662. Do I need both or just one? I would like a clean and simple instalation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You probably only need the rear to correct what you described.
The front harness runs from the firewall, down the left frame rail to a spot where the rear harness hooks into.

If the PO wired the trailer off the rear harness then replace that.

You should check the wiring back there first though. A number of wiring anomilies are a direct result of crappy grounding... Spend a few hours back there and clean up all the contacts with steel wool and make sure the ground connections are clean.
