    Meanwhile ,

Over on my Honda 90 list , we're discussing old tech paper wound condensors , when they crap out on the road , you can usually squeeze a little bit more life by crimping the case with pliers....

This is why you'll occasionally see a dented condensor .

I am told they don't make that typ anymore but who knows ? .

In any case , once you have a set of points that burn evenly , the condenser is GOLD ! don't ever change it again and discover longer points life .

If you install a MSD box your points will last forever cause all they do is trigger the box and the box does the rest.....Big Tim

    MSD Ignition

Yeah , uh huh ~ a vehicle with a 6 volt alternator that uses the BATTERY to regulate the charge voltage.....

    I think not .

Yeah I think so! You should do your homework
Yeah, UH HUH........DUH! But if you remember Nate! The original vehicle we are talking about in this post has been changed over to all more modern components and most likely a TWELVE VOLT SYSTEM! So the MSD unit is not a bad Idea and just so you know the MSD 6 to 12 volt booster PN # 8989 will work on a 6 volt system and allow you to run an MSD 5 or 6a box.. Are you and have you always been a glass half empty kind of guy? I mean could it be that there others out there that are as intelligent as you make your self out to be? And who in there right mind would go to the trouble of putting a 6 volt alternator on a truck instead of converting to 12 volt anyways? I mean really Nate YEAH, UH HUH So can you tell me what shoe taste's like? .....Big Tim

    Lol !

O.K. , I get your point (mine is on my head) .

My son ran an MSD on his racecar for a while , I was impressed by the 4" long sparks ! .

Old 6 volt Hondas often have serious voltage spikes that blow out the sealbeams so it'd not be so good there .

I've seen a few Delcotrons converted to make 6 Volts , they worked out pretty well .

To each their own , I like the basic Pertronix Ignitor when I do ignition upgrades .

I never claimed to be smart , ask the others here .

Why aren't you over on the '73 ~ '87 forums helping me sort out my new junker ? .
