mine was about the same when I started, hows the frame??
I did'nt see alot of rust so thats always a good thing.

as for rust no it doesnt have much. the frame is in really good shape. im gonna replace the doors and fenders cuz thats just easier then patching. but even the cab corners are in good shape which is rare. the engine is a fresh rebuilt 350 that i have just put in it. first motor i have ever built and she purrs like a kitten now. it runs really well with the granny 4 speed tranny

thats good , the cab on mine was in really good shape ,guy I got it from started on it and then when he started working on the motor he found out it was too much trouble. the doors had to be replaced and the bed was'nt even together, but I also did'nt find very much rust.
as far as the motor its the original 283 with a little musle
wanna check it out look in photos under "texascowboy's truck"
still got work to do.

will do and as for a lil more rust im gonna have to fix is the rockers, they are not to bad and could probly just be fiberglassed and smoothed out but im gonna do it the right way and just patch those spots. i dont believe in takin shortcuts when it comes to fixin rust, it will bite you in the ass in the end

thanks 283, its never gonna be a show truck but it will make a hell of a toy if you ask me, and not to mention it saved some more antique iron from the crusher

YEAH if you dont handle the rust the right way it will get you. I used to have a 76' and it had some rust I was young and in a hurry and tried to hide it with a really bad fiberglass job and one day while on my way to my favorite fishing hole I hit a really deep &hard bump and off came the fiberglass with alot more rust than before. live and learn, huh?? so now even though it takes some time i did it the right way this time but as stated before I aint done.
