    Tire size

For a close to original size radial tire, LT215/85R16 works pretty well.

    Hey Skiter!
Here is a link documenting my tire size journey.

If you don't have a side mount spare, then you can just skip over that part.
DISCLAIMER - i still have not driven mine yet, so i cannot give you a first hand testimonial of this tire size - YET! (but others on here have testified to this size and you will find that when you use the SEARCH function) - good luck!

Here's one with the 215/85R16's that Bob suggested. Very close to the original 6.50's.

Thanks for all the great help

Thanks for all the great info When switching to radials from bias I would assume that you would still need to use tubes because of the split rims right????????? thanks again to all of you for any help.

    Split rims

Sixteen inch six hole split rims are pretty rare wheels. Unless you are really intent on keeping them on your truck, I wouldn't use them. Look at Wolf's post about trying to find someone to mount tires on them.

Most of these trucks had regular type wheels on them. They are pretty easy to find if you need a set. No tubes needed, but watch for rust pitting especially around the edges and the valve stem hole where they have to seal. You'll also need to use some type of sealant on the rivets.

    Good luck,
    Bob

    Are these Chevy wheels?
