I’m doing a build on a truck that is based on a 1979 or 1980 K series frame. The passenger side sits about 1.5” taller than the driver side. Measuring ground to axle is 0 difference but measuring frame To ground just above the rear springs shows significant difference. Is a leaf spring the most likely cause of the difference and is it best to replace a spring, apply shims, or something else?
Our brand new 2019 Ranger has a 1/2" shim on the drivers side... from the factory. Most spring shops will tell you if it's within 1" to shim it. As long as the springs are in good shape I wouldn't hesitate to do a 1-1/2" shim.
