i have a 1958 apache 32 longbed stepside.33,000 original miles,3 speed,original 283 with 2 barrel rochester 2g carb.this is a problem. i believe my vacuum advance is bad,and have searched EVERYWHERE to find one.and i cant.if someone has some words of wisdom i would appreciate it.

Find a Standard Ignition dealer and look in their older models _book_ ~ screw the computer , NAPA also has Echlin early model books , the pimple crushers behind the counter never want to bother actually looking anything old up .
 
I could be wrong, but I bet Napa has it....You just don't have a Nick to go along with the napa, Nick has got Me parts for every Antique tractor I own including the Minneapolis moline Z, I will check with Him and ask. You are Welcome to try also (304) 733-4849 just Ask for Nick, The others usually Look at Me like I have 2 heads.
