I'd hate to see what the train looked like... looks like this one might have been hit by the train??? If thats the case, i'd hate to see the train!
Righty - O ! Well ; The two grumpy old French guys I worked for back then , didn't give a hoot what you called it... I ran the gas island (three pumps ! ) and worked on the ' Funny Furrin' Jobs ' that came in...... They were big time Pugeot (! SP !) guys and did most of those their buddies brought in .
Hog pen ! I bet those Girl Scouts didn't know what kinda bed was on that pickup they were riding in....... You guys are killing me here with these pictures ~ it'll take me days to get back to modern times again .
On a personal note... A few weeks before this thread started, I was going through some old photos scanning them into my computer. I had to laugh when I came across this photo that was taken over 3 months before I was conceived. That is my Mom and brother lying on the grass in front of the AD. I guess the bug must bite very early! Greg
How To Put This ? Having a beautiful Lady in close proximity to that luvverly AD , well , you know ~ I can see how she got ' in the mood ' .

Hey Tony, no I didn't save any task force truck pics, but the original thread over on the HAMB has got a bunch. By the way, nice picture of your truck! Got any more you'd like to share with us? We like pictures! Did you notice the '56 in the picture of the trucks on the ferry? Ken
Panels and 'burbs! You know, you don't see very many panels and suburbans anymore, but there were a lot of them back then! Here's a few! Ken
Whew ! Nice pix . Back when I had my 1937 EL (61") KnuckleHead , I never dressed like that . Kinda sad to see that '37 Chevy ' Waterfall ' grille all bashed in like that . Down to The City , we used to have lots of weird home brew stripers , one was a '61 Mercury Comet , several others were made from ex - Postal Jeeps the Feds gave us by the dozen (if not by the hundred) , the best of these were curb stone stripers that had a hand cranked , wheeled spray rig on the right cowl , being Postal Jeeps are Right Hand Drive , this worked out extremely well .
Hey Ken, I had not visited here for a while and had fallen behind on the photos. I was surprised and very happy to see this one. Latimer Looney Chevrolet is in Kingsport, TN where I live. My Dad and I use to go there. He had a favorite salesman that they called Yardstick because he always carried one around. One time Dad bought 5 cars for $100. He called his buddies to help drive them home and sold one of them for $100 to one of the drivers before we got home. So, he had 4 cars with nothing in them. I hadn't thought of that experience in a long time. As Bob Hope always sang, Thanks for the memories!
