A friend stopped by today to check on my progress with the 66 C10. When I told him I plan on installing a 350 crate motor, he suggested I use factory exhaust manifolds from 67-72 Chevy V8 trucks. He said they are center dump and that the outlet is angled about 40 degrees back. That sounds good to me. It would be nice not to have an almost 90 degree turn in the exhaust pipes.

Has anyone used that particular exhaust? I searched the 67-72 section of this forum and found no info on these manifolds.

Top pics are camaro, caprice, nova `70`s ...... bottom pics are `70`s chevy truck

The bottom pics must be the ones he's referring to. Do you agree those would be a good choice? Thanks for the reply. Jim

either would be good, not sure how much room there is for the truck units / motor mounts but they must fit sense they were standard production pieces.

I found out today that the lower units in your picture are 69-72 Chevy truck with the factory 350. Now I know what to search for at the local junk yard. Thanks again.

Exhaust Manifolds

Those truck ram's horn ones do it for me ~ I always add a crossover pipe as close to the engine as I can to improve extraction ~ the average Hot Rodder wants the noise more than the power , the crossover makes far better mid range power but mutes the rapping of the exhaust .

Those are still made brandy new and cheap too ~ ATP or some name like that sells them , I've used their products and been *very* happy with the quality .

Those goofy heat shields are important ! don't leave them off , learn how to work properly and you'll never get cut .
