Theres actually a special little Hand held tool for that that Has Several star shaped wheels on it that Spin While Your holding it with it running .
Although I Find A good Blower nozzle on with good airpreasure works just as well . But a little water on it during cleaning only Helps get the Compound buildup out of it .
Wool Pads are Great for Really fast Cutting with an agresive compound , But can have a tendency to Burn the paint if not wet enough or to high of RPM .
But for buffing or Polishing todays Basecoat clearcoat paint. You,ll find the different Foam pads & grades of Compound work much better. I Use the 3m Perfect 3 system But theres others that work good to . Hope that helps . Bob
Woops I just reread & Noticed You said Bonnet . If thats the type that Tyes tight with a string . Then It aint a Real buffer or polisher & going to cause You more grief then not when it Flys off .
