Hey guys my truck has been sitting on the side line for a bit,
Today started it up and the glass fuel pump started to leak fuel from the side
Is it possible to rebuild it ?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I remember the one my 228 had. Must have had water in the gas or something, as the bowl had actually cracked.

There used to be places that sold fuel pump rebuild kits, it's very simple .

Maybe look on Hemmings Motor news or Flea-Bay ? .

I put the new fuel pump on that came with the engine and gas was bubbling out of the two top screws
So it was mentioned to me to put a electric fuel pump on.
Any one have any advice on that?
Thanks Robert

The easiest and cheapest fuel pump will be the cube typ, made by Facet and sold under myriad differeing brand names .

The pressure is critical ! do not exceed 4 PSI, your F.L.A.P.S. will be out of stock of the low pressure (2 ~ 4 PSI) one and insist that the slightly higher pressure one is better, so on and so forth, IT ISN'T and will cause you all manner of grief, a pressure regulator is a bad thing and must never be used .

Where the pump is mounted is important too, place it as close to the fuel tank's outlet and NO filter before the pump ~ only have the fuel filter as close to the carby as you can get it .

Thanks guys I will recheck my lines look at the pumps again.
And replace the pump.

Glad to see you pop in for a minute

Thank you Robert .

I'm amazed I'm still able to respond, much less being alive .

I'm out of the wheel chair now and bought another Motocycle......

Probably a foolish thing to do but I did it .

Still walking with the danged cane, looking like Charlie Chaplin except not as funny......

Nice Robert ! .

That one is fully rebuildable, it's an easy job you can do at home .

Good to know Nate where might I find a kit?
One of my leakers is just like the one I found at the swap meet .

I'm not sure anymore Robert ;

The last time I saw kits I was looking for them in Hemmings Motor News OnLine, there was a vendor there .

It can't hurt to take it ever so gently apart and measure the various dimensions and begin looking on E-Bay, Amazon and maybe Googling it .

You're local to the PO-mona Auto Jumble, maybe take it there and see what you can find ? .
