Okay, I'm stealing this thread from another site, but it was interesting so I thought I'd ask it here.

"What is the farthest you have driven your truck"?

Mine, only have driven as far as 150 miles away. What a road trip though. Most of my time in my truck has been around town. Not driving it all right now, still in pieces in my garage:mad: . I'll get there though.

Haven't driven it at all yet. Just got it and am still tearing it apart. Planning on taking it surfing a LOT, though. It would look so cool with my longboards hanging out the back.

If the motor was in my truck instead of being 10 ft. away from it, i could actually drive mine out of the shop instead of pushing it!:D Ah, patience grasshopper, in due time, in due time...

About 100 yards with no brakes whatsoever and a slipping clutch, keeps you on the ball having no brakes, you have to constantly look for the cheapest thing to hit if it all goes wrong!!!!!!!!!

I've driven mine on a five hour trip From Simi Valley Ca. into the San Fernando Valley at Chatsworth to San Fernando to Sylmar to Van Nuys to Encino to Calabasas to North Hills to Chatsworth and back to Simi Valley. That day was the first time I tried it on the Ronald Ragan Freeway. Top speed on the freeway was about 50 for about 4 miles then regular street speed the rest of the way. Was a Fun time.

I've driven mine to the other end of town. And then a couple of days later, I finished the trip back. That was the first time I realized just how much muck was in the tank! Never had it over 22 mph. (3/4 ton) I also got an idea how bad off the front end might be. I had, however, redone the brakes so I could at least stop. It's not hard to do from 22mph in a 3/4 4 speed anyhow. It's set out on the street in front of my house since then waiting for me to decide it's fate! I do know this. One fine day I'm gonna fire that puppy up, and my daughter, wife and I will take off for where ever we want, as fast as the highway says we can go! I can't wait 'till I have figured out exactly what I need to do to it to be able to run the roads like I do in my Blazer...safely. Anyway, all this waiting I've done and it sounds like we're all in the same boat, for the most part.

I routinely take my old truck on 100 + mile jaunts , I've driven it to Death Valley and back when fully loaded up , camping and etc. ~ I actually got hungry in Death Valley and so drove it up and over the hill into Beady , Nv. for lunch , taking a side trip down dirt road to Rhyolite , NV , a cool ghost town .

Driving far away is just like driving it back and forth to work 35 times in a row...... :D

Don't be askeert to drive your old truck , it'll make it just fine if it's full of fresh oil and clean water....

Don't go floating the valves on the highway and it'll do just fine .

Remember : my old 1949 Chevy is just a POC work truck , never had any love untill I bought it and it gets up and rattles down the road just fine.......

As far as how ar ? I rarely put over 600 miles a day on it as my old bones get tired these days .

In one day? About 400 miles, with a load of furniture in the back. From Klein TX (25 miles north of Houston to Kilgore TX and back. The trip is about 100 miles Interstate, 150 miles 4 lane and 100 miles 2 lane. Mostly 70 MPH speed limit and I stayed pretty close to the limit. Luckily, my truck came from the factory with a 3.08 rear gear.

When I got out of my '57 GMC at the end of the return trip I said "still rides like an old truck".

    drive time

personally, i've only driven my truck around town, which is the equivalent of about 10 city blocks. the person i bought it from, however, drove it from Kansas to southern New Mexico, where I ended up with it. THANKS!! ha!
