Unfortunate, but true! I am now the proud owner of a, dare I say it, F*%d PU! Before you guys ban me for life from this forum, let me explain! It's my dad's 1934 Ford truck that he bought in 1954! Most of you have seen it on occassion on this forum. I'm not totally tainted because it has had a CHEVY Corvette engine in it since 1957.

Guys, what a thrill it is to have this truck. For those who haven't seen it or read about it, let me bore you real quick. I was born in April of 1954 and dad found this truck in a barn 2 months after I was born. He bought it and the rest is history! He had it painted in Denver, CO. in '55 and put the vette engine in it in '57. It still wears the original paint from '55 and still has the 1st generation vette engine in it!

A little history about the engine. It is a '55 Corvette block, 265 cu. in. with '57 283 high compression heads. Elgin cam (Santa Rosa speed shop started in '57, still in business today). Modern upgrades (as of 2 months ago) include a 1403 Endelbrock Performer Series 4 bbl carb, Lokar cable throttle, and Pertronix ignition. This bad boy runs like a scoulded ass ape!

Here's a few pics of my best friend since I was old enough to remember anything!

    Hey Ken

I`ll gues it makes you proud to have a truck that is so well kept and has belonged to your dad! Is it stiff to drive or have you done some modifications to meet modern driving standards ? Anough enginepower , thats for shore!

    Ken,
I see where you got your meticulous ways. Are those Caddy wheels? They look familiar but I can't quite place them.

Good eye Bill! Yes, they are Caddy wheels. Care to hazard a guess as to what kind of taillights those are?

My closest guess would be a modified 59 Pontiac tail light. Thanks for the sneak preview of the truck a few weeks ago.:D

    Nice truck Ken.

The 1st gen '55 sbc didn't have an oil filter boss cast into the block, they changed that in '56. Does yours have the dealer installed oil filter canister? Just curious.

Thanks for posting about your dad's truck Cool story!
