Just an update...

Decided to go with the 2 wheel drive s10. Found a guy through a friend of mine, that wants to get rid of his s10 blazer for $200. I figured, that since this is a rust free s10 (the engine is shot) that I would just use it instead of the 4 wheel drive that I was going to use. Who knows, maybe I will just rebuild, and turbo-charge the v6 that is in the s10, and put my 400 sb in something else. Fuel injection sound like a pretty nice idea for my daily driver. I think that I would really like to get rid of that automatic transmission too. Oh the constant metamorphasis (I am not sure I spelled that right) of my yellow GMC... What to do... What to do. For right now, I just need to get that steering box switched out, so that I don't have to crank on that wheel so much just to make a turn You know your steering is gettin bad when you can turn your wheel halfway, and the truck still goes straight!

Girl, I love your enthusiasm! Never lose sight of the most important thing though! Safety. I'm with you 100% on your mods, but make sure they are mechanically sound decisions! I can't preach that enough! There are limits to what can be done and still operate a sound and safe vehicle.

If you use the s10 blazer frame, you will have to lengthen it....or have a really short bed on your truck.

I've been all over the board, and thanks to Kevin's help, he nearly had me chopping up my van to get at that 350/700 (plus parts).
Nate, on the other hand, made my 228 sound like the best way to go. After where I was heading, it's almost funny that for now my major change will be a new back end (on my truck), and disk brakes with a dual mc. Wow! a real departure...
Thing is, I can (and will) do it all myself.

No fraid not, just had major complications with infections from the so called treatment, just getting over the last infection, havent really worked for past 5 weeks and havent even looked at the ol truck in the yard

Good grief, I had to think that you are STILL suffering over stones that shoulda' been out a l-o-n-g time ago. My brother had two, They made him wait 4 days because he was on asprin-a-day. Then they were blasted out, and he was drumming for one of his bands that night.

The magic number you are looking for is 118 inches for the wheel base. The blazer is to short but can be lengthened very easily. 118 inches will put your rear wheels dead center of your fender, stock is 116. If you lengthen your frame make sure you get someone that is a good welder. I can weld but I still don't think I would trust my own welding skills to tackle the frame. I still like the sbc 400 in the old truck. You gotta have something other than that ugly GMC mug to turn people head. (no offence that comment is mainly for Zig, I know it will stir him up a little) The wheel base of my frame has turned out to be 120 inches after installing my air ride. My air ride was adjustable so I could shorten it. I'm gonna have to do some fancy work with the bed to get it to look right. Shouldn't be that big of a deal though. I used a extended cab short bed frame. After doing the measurements the regular cab long bed is darn near perfect. Live and learn right.

And it's not because it's 11:17 that I'm saying that. In a few short weeks, I'm back to school. If I post late THEN, it's because I need to. Now, I'm just trying to milk the last few moments of freedom I have before I'm put back in charge of making sure 24 parents (if they're single) know I'm doing everything I can to help their child achieve.

Turns out my stone is bout the size of a peach stone so pray i dont pass that naturally!!!! After really pressing one doc for the truth it turns out that the NHS which runs the hospitals over here deemed it pointless having the equipment in every hospital to zap these stones when and if people came in with them so now it is a few machines and operators (privately owned) who move around hospitals one at a time, and treat people in batches, so i have to wait till this equipment arrives in my area! crazy situation i know but thats the price of a free health service, anyway im sure your all bored with this, but thanks for the interest.

Hey Brit,
We have the best health care in the world over here but to hear some politicians, socialized medicine is the only way to go. I am afraid we may end up with it someday then we will see. I'm now taking Magnesium Citrate and sleeping for the first time in many years.... the last two days I've been asleep when the alarm clock went off , what a change .
