Any 48 - 53 suburbans out there?

Anyone Still Out There?

I'm going to revive this thread. I purchased a 52 Chevy Suburban last month here in California that was in pretty decent shape. Still looking for a community to help with restoration questions. Any ideas?

52 Suburban, rear fender crunched bad, dash butchered, front floor eaten up, inner and outer cowl rusted away, hood is history, 174 holes in body that shouldn't be, front lower hinge boxes gone, rear hinges frozen and the bent when doors forced open, should be paint ready next month. Chassis receiving a Lincoln Mark VIII independent rear end and Pacer front end. Trailblazer Atlas DOHC 6 with 4L60E for power. After finding out how much the bandits want for crappy used fenders I spent half a day and banged the old one into shape.

Well, I still have my 48 Burb, picked up a nice frame from Trick Trucks and Rods and should be starting on it later this year. I keep getting distracted with other projects.

Besides, the Grandson won't fit in the 35 coupe with us.

Yep. After finishing my resto on a 52 Ford F1 I have moved to the dark side and started a 51 Chevy Burban.

51 Suburban roof now replaced

A labour of love but starting to take shape...

Decided to drag the '48 from the back to the front of the shop to get started.

Couldn't wait anymore

At some point this Texas 'Burb had purple paint and interior done.

The first and second row seats are still there.

Decided I didn't like that route for the floor so I redid it, adding 3 inches to the width of the original wheel tubs.

Made some storage boxes to cover the area of the sidewall that had been torch cut at at some point in the past.
