Okay, so I have a long (approx. 5"?) metal piece and a spring that (I believe) went to my brake pedal and was the return hookup.
Problem is, I'm not willing to bet my farm on this.
As a result, I have a request. Could someone tell me (better yet, show me through a picture) how this hooks up?
I checked my manual, but it was no help.

Thanks for any and all thoughts/comments/photos!

Hey Zig. I'm not sure exactly what piece of 5" metal you're talking about. Here's a picture of my chassis on the driver side, with Master Cylinder installed. Brake arm shows, and in front, attached to inside of chassis is a U shaped metal strip with holes in each end which I used to attach return springs for the brake and clutch pedals. See if this helps. Bill, you are on the right track!
What I am needing to see is what is used to span the gap from the arm(s) to the u shaped bracket.
See? Even with a screwed up knee you are helping out here!
Thanks, Bill, and good luck with a speedy recovery!
I had an MRI done of my lower back 2 Mondays ago. Have heard nothing so I called. "The doctor hasn't looked at it yet".

Zig, I just used a stiff wire to extend my return spring. As long as the spring is strong enough to do the job. I used a piece of galvanized clothes line wire.

Well~ Apparently I need a clutch pedal return spring now. The one I thought was the spring will never stretch as far as it needs, let alone any further.
Hey, at least the brake spring is good to go!

That's what makes this site my home away from home~ If you ask, our members provide. (Like you, Evan!)
I wonder how long that return spring is before it is put under stress. .... ;)

Thank you again, Tubby!!!

Well, that is absolutely *not* the spring I had saved thinking it went on the clutch arm... And, I don't remember seeing one that resembles that.
Time to check our host and see if they carry those.

I certainly appreciate the help with what the heck I need through pictures AND measurements! I look forward to playing that forward! ;)

Lowe's and Home Depot carry an assortment of springs that may fulfill your need. So do the local parts houses. Not trying to take business away from our host, but it might be quicker. Bill B.
