We have all had to contend with foreign made replacement parts that don't fit or last but our latest POS is American made and a disaster. It's a high end King Cobra kit, probably 20K, and it is like several orders for different cars got mixed together. The doors would come closer to fitting a Beetle convertible and the hood and trunk were obviously designed as BBQ grill covers. All this for a project belonging to an owner that is in contention for the title of worlds #1 pickiest. I guess the moral of the story is next time replacement rubber sucks or bumper brackets don't even come close to fitting then just smile and tell yourself I only spent 200 instead of 20,000.

I think we cross boundaries here often enough, this would be just fine.
This would be a nightmare for me. Decide to spend that kind of $$$, and get a kit that is junk.

I should have been more specific, it's an AC Cobra not a Shelby Mustang. As you can see the entire cockpit area and door openings had to be made to fit, the hood had no arch to fit the cowl and in fact wouldn't fit into the opening, and now just the top of the deck to body gap has to be attended to. If it were just gaps then that's not too bad but there was huge "steps" between body panel joints. Our rule on fitment is exactly even with each other and exactly one paint stick thickness for gap width.

Historically, did Carrol Shelby ever make a "King" Cobra in the AC Cobra body style? I thought the only King Cobra was the weird looking Cooper Monaco version they built in 1963...

Not historically correct to call one a King Cobra but what was commonly used to differentiate between the big block and small block AC. Some would also say 289 or 427 and others called them skinny fendered or fat fendered.
