Door skins

The bottom of my outer door skins on my '57 GMC 1/2 ton have rusted through on both sides. I do not do body work myself, but will probably end up supplying the new skin panels for whoever I hire to do the work. If you have recent (last couple of years) experience with replacement door skins I would appreciate your comments about the skins sold by the various old truck parts providers.
 
After dealing with rusted door skins myself after talking with my body shop it was more cost effective to replace the doors .The body shop wanted a little more than $300.00 a door to repair and you have to think about the time to repair and I think the body shop said 5-7 days and we all know how bodyshops can be .I replaced both doors and i'm quite happy with the fit

Replaced with complete doors .Door skins and inner panels too badly rusted and one door was twisted .Door hinges and latches fit fine .

With that said, what vendor did you buy the doors from? Are they steel? Fiberglass? Is your truck a chevy or gmc? Does it matter? What about pre-drilled holes for fitment of window tracks, handles, etc, etc? Yo Bill, this is my way of saying, if you need my help, I'm there!;) Let me know, bro!
 
So far everything seems to fit fine .Just a few minor adjustments.The doors are manufactured by counterpart.The only thing i noticed the bolt locations for the hinges required a 3/8-16 bolt rather than the fine thread bolt.I'm happy with how the doors are looking.Whenit comes back from the paint shop final assembly will be the big test.I'm confident everything will be fine. The truck is a Chevrolet
 
Thanks Bobby (and Ken). My Google searches using combinations of "counterpoint", "door", "replacement" and "Chevy" have not turned up anything useful. Could you provide more specific information to this company Bobby?

Did you fit the window and locking/latching mechanisms to the doors for a trial fit before sending them to the paint shop? Did you hang the doors?
 
Sorry i mis-spelled the supplier name is counterpart.I hear OER(original equipment reproduction) is pretty good too. Yes i did fit the windows,track,wing window and door lock hardware and had no problems.I hung the doors in my garage and removed to transport. I didn't have a lot of help to get the cab on the trailer. with the preliminary work done then i gave them chassis.Now they're double checking door,hood and fender alignments.I was there today they should be ready to start blocking it by thursday.
I hope my info helps,I like this forum and have gotten some good ideas here myself and like helping others when i can.
