A 35 Olds we did the metal and paint work on won for class and display at the Dallas Autorama last weekend. Was a very rough car that a metal building had fallen in on and squashed the roof to the seats. This makes it hard to get all the window openings the right size and shape to take stock glass. Took one of the metal guys a month with a shrinking hammer, shrinking dolly, a bucket of water and a torch to get it back in shape without using filler. It is strange that our cars have won two Autoramas now and both are 4dr sedans. Go figure.

Pics are getting mighty meager as I age and seen most many times over but here are a couple of in progress build ones. The only reason I have these is I really think the dark charcoal color fits the body style well and might use it on my 37 Buick which is overdo for a fresh paint job. Now that it's finished and doing well I guess I better take a couple of finished ones next time it's in the shop. The engine is a 408ci LS7 that tipped the dyno at near 650hp. Car with all the stereo stuff is probably close to 5000#'s so it needs a bit of push.

One reason that you've had so much luck at Autorama might be that the judges realize the amount of high quality work that went into your entries. You can buy all new sheet metal and chassis for the Deuce Fords, Tri-5 Chevys and other popular cars, but making a 35 Olds look good requires craftsmanship.
