We have a 48 in the shop now for a complete makeover and I'm going to make a couple copies of the frame mount gas tank brackets and bands. The tank itself is a very simple design that any sheet metal shop should be able to make and the filler pipe can be made from exhaust pipe bends available from places like Summit or Speedway. If all works well and if anyone is interested I'll keep account of the time and material and see what the cost will run. Here is a photo( I hope) of the factory setup.

I'm in the process of a restore for a 48 Chevy 1/2 ton. My frame is rusted out around the gas tank. I sure would like to see the attachment you posted but when I click on the site, garbage comes in.
Thanks
Mike

Gee Mike, I don't know what to tell you, I just did a test click and it was very clear. The rear leaf springs have been replaced by coilover shocks--is that whats throwing you?

Thanx Evan , that's a nice pic and should be archived for future use .

Hello,

New user to the forum.

I have a 53 1/2 ton with tank in cab. I would like to mount the tank under the bed and still keep the spare tire carrier.

I would like more information on your under bed tank hangers and tank dimensions.

thank-you
