... but, you can gas it up from either side Nate.
.
.I put a tape to my tank and it measures 32" from edge to edge. I have about a 1/2" clearance between the tank and the crossmember on both sides. I used 1" angle for the back and the sides of the support frame, and a piece of 1" square tubing across the front, and the tubing is for spacing. It let me drop the front side of the tank down and gave me some extra clearance on the crossmember. If I ever need to drop the tank, all I need to do is remove the bolts on the four corners.@fantm2flyer , that tank is 70 Mustang? Tanksinc says that's 32" wide, but that must be seam to seam?
The more I look at your pictures the better that fit seems...
Looks like it snugs into the crossmember much better than the 71 Chevelle tank I have mocked up here.
(And 22 gallon capacity, wowzers!!)

I got mine from fillernecksupply.comLooks great wish I had that idea for mine I took the stock crossmember out .
I can’t tell in one of the pics did you make a reducer for the filler hose to fit over the opening of the tank ?
I have to get something to reduce the filler opening
No, I didn't make that. The opening in the tank is 2 1/2" and the tube on the cap that mounts in the bed is 2". So I just did a search for a 2 1/2"-2" filler hose with a 45 degree bend and ordered it online. The hose is obviously too long, but until I get the bed back on I won't know how much and which end to trim. The only thing about the tank is that it is not vented. I guess '70 Mustangs had vented gas caps. So I drilled a slightly undersize hole in the side of the filler neck, and screwed a straight brass 5/16" hose fitting in there. It fit really tight, and I'll end up putting some sealant around it for good measure. Now I just need to find a place to mount the vent/rollover valve.Looks great wish I had that idea for mine I took the stock crossmember out .

Feel free! After all, I got the idea to use the '70 Mustang tank from Robs52truck to start with...That setup looks GREAT!
I plan to plagiarize heavily...
Thanks again!
