Hood bumpers

I have a 54 and just got it home from the final assembly. The hood has 3 bumpers on each side. there are still holes that look like they would have a bumper in them; especially one near the front of the hood near the latch plate. that area is being rubbed by the hood. The bumper set i purchased from Jim Carter has 10 bumpers in it. the assembly manual only shows 3 bumpers on each side.
Any info on where the other 2 on each side go? Additionally, 8 are small pad bumpers and the other 2 are large like the door bumpers.

put-put, i'm thinking the '54 will have 2, possibly 4 hood bumpers in the upper radiator baffle. look in your assembly manual (sect. 11, sheet 2.04) for the location of the bumpers on the baffle. my guess is that they would be the thicker ones.
