Hello,
I'm not sure after dismantling years ago my truck how to fix the battery on the frame. If someone has photos - they say more than words - I'll be glad to look how to fix.

Battery Box

It's supposed to be in a sheet metal box on the outside of the right frame rail under the cab , they do sell reproductions battery boxes but perhaps making one to suit the larger 12 volt battery might be wise .

When I were a poor farm laddie , we'd use an insulated milk box mounted on the passenger side running board just in front of the rear fender.... works well & looks O.K. unless it's a restoration .

Remember : 6 or 12 volts , use ONLY battery cables as big diameter as your thumb . 0 gauge , I'm not sure how many MM this is .

I have mine made from welding cables for maximum cranking power and life .

No bottom on this box as it is being replaced but does show frame brackets. First picture shows the splash shield just in front of the bracket and shows the bracket is almost touching the front running board brace. Yours must have been replaced previously because they are riveted on from the factory.

Don't Forget ~

To show us pictures of how you resolve the issue .

IIRC , a BMW battery fits well in the 6 volt battery tray , do not use a flat metal plate under the battery ! it needs ribs and or holes to prevent rusting out again .
