I wouldn't be too worried about not having baffles, they're nice, but not a necessity by any means. There are a lot of options, as Rich's post outlines. Here's how I did the rear mount tank on my '65: https://talk.classicparts.com/showthread.php?p=88322#post88322/ Good luck to ya!
good job WOW I like it looks good.. I have been waiting for someone to give up some info and thoughts on rear under bed tank installing. I am still trying to figure out how to keep the filler out of the bed, thinking about one of the pics here where it comes out just behind the fender?? Thanks for sharing.
Rear Tanks & Remote Fillers You're on the right track , have it come out below the bed side near the last vertical bed support try to avoid using rubber hoses and always figure in some sort of a vent so it fills easily . I highly disagree on the baffles , no Chinese tanks either ~ measure then find a good used tank and have the radiator shop re rust then coat it inside and out . If it has no baffles , they can cut it open and ad some .
Ratsnest, thanks for posting your tank install. I was on another forum asking if anyone had installed the LMC tank & Lakeroadster sent me here. So I joined today. How many inches from bottom of frame rail to bottom of tank? Getting ready to hit the "add to cart" button . I have a `65 stepside project. Hope to have my chassis look as good as yours someday. great job !Thanks, Donnie
Donnie, As a comparison, the 49-52 Chevy passenger car gas tank in my '65 hangs 2" below the frame rail.
