I have found two companies that make tha sb chevy 350 thydro trans headers for my 59 GMC. Doug Thorley Tri y (327y) and Sanderson shorty(cc3). What have Ya'll used and how did the install go? I plan on using cd motor and tranny crossmembers and keeping most all off the stock chassis stuff, but using the chassis mounted power brake kit.
Thanks Jim

Try Heddman.

Tri-Ys are expensive
and not much better than
the "rams horn" style
stock manifolds. You
might also take a look
at the tubular style
triple-y hedders that
are in the Summit catalog
that carry the Summit
brand name. If you have
to go triple-Y at least
the Summit ones are a good
deal ($75 for the set).
I doubt you could find a pair
of the large outlet stock
rams-horn manafolds for $75.

The Heddman site has a lot
more comprehensive listing
than the Jegs, Summit and
PAW catalogs. I just put
hedders in a '68 with a
manual 3-speed. The clutch
linkage requires a special
drivers side hedder. I used
a more common application and
adapted the clutch linkage as
needed. For significantly less
than the special hedders cost
I was able to get the high-end
ones that have the coating and
the ball type flanges. My point
here is that you can probably
find standard (read: not too
expensive) long-tube hedders
that can be made to fit with
little bit of extra work.
