oil pressure gauge

I have recently purchased a 1992 chevy s-10 maxi cab. It is a real clean truck. I am concerned about the oil pressure gauge that jumps around and fluxuates terribly when the motor is idling. When you get up to speed it stops and shows pleanty of pressure. Anyone else have this problem or know the solution.

What is happening is a standard GM problem.It is gauge problem.Check your gauge for a loose connections.

I went to the people I bought it from. The mecanic indicated the gauge problem can be resolved with a new sending unit. I will have the unit installed in a couple of days. Thanks for the insights.
