Thought I would post a couple of pictures of my 47. You folks have been very helpful with my 305 vs. 350 engine issue. I know it's a bit easer answer questions with picutures.

Awesome ride, Ron!!! More pics are required though! Let's see some interior shots! Love the wheel treatment! Love the look of vintage rally wheels!

Thanks for the comments on my truck. I was looking for some pictures of the interior and only have one. As you can see it is not complete but functional. I plan to change or modify the door trim panels and install the headliner.

Wish I could take credit for the build but I purchased the truck, the builder did a nice job but I need to complete. It's drivable but still needs work. The truck is setting on a S-10 chassis. I have some engine work to do along with finishing the interior but it's a fun project and keeps me out of trouble. I really enjoy driving the truck and with the bright color it will turn a few heads, some like it, some do not. I plan to drive the truck and have some fun.

The folks on this forum have been very helpful and I greatly appreciate the feedback.

This is something my son would love , I am gone show him your beautifull truck . He is an mecanic and carpainter and would love the details. Tell us what kind engine it is, a 305 or 350 crate? The steering solution is unknown to me, tell us about it. Your brakebooster has the steering colum intergated ? How many inches did you lowered your truck and does it feels stiff when driving it fast? Is it alright if i ask you how much you paid for this truck?

Lovely truck man. Thats one straight ride. Cool colour, its soooooo nice Id be scared to drive it after all that hard work.

Yea, that;s the plan. I'm to old and to broke to have it set in the garage. It's a driver functional and alot of fun. Still working on the engine issues. I would like to remove the door lettering, what do you suggest?

Remove the lettering?:eek: That makes it! Is it painted on or a graphic? If painted on, you might try 1000-1200 grit wet/dry sandpaper. Once removed, an overlay of clear coat should work. Just a thought!

I dunno. I kinda like the lettering,just a touch more character.
 
Depending on when it was applied, start with paint thinner and rub it out. If the clear is nice and hard, you can actually use Laquer thinner sparingly and rub it off. You can also compound it off, just stay off the paint around it. You could also compound it to weather it out and give it that worn look. You may be able to wet sand it, then buff out the clear underneath afterwards.

In teh past when having to remove door lettering I have used "Easy Off" oven cleaner but if it is on there under a clear coat this will not work
I doubt it will attack the base color but try someplace inconspicuous first

I may not be using the correct terms but I was told it was the lettering (paint) which is above the clear is called " one shot" and yes I have tried Easy Off but it did not work. I did try using Lacquer thinner on a very small area and after rubbing it did come off. I did not want to use it on the complete door but it did remove the one very small spot. I have mixed emotions about taking it off but I'm not a real fan of door lettering unless it is weathered and that look goes along with the paint job. This paint is very good and the lettering, I just do not know.
