Smooth running boards

Have any of you made your running boards smooth? Is it hard to do? Any pictures how to do this process?

They're not terribly expen$ive new but they're also usually Chinese....

Maybe Mar - K has them ? .

The ribs are pressed in which means the metal is stretched for each rib. Impossible to just hammer flat and very time consuming to shrink out. Best bet with your boards would be to cut pieces that covered the top from inner radius that turns up towards the cab to the outer radius than rolls down towards the ground. Panel bond cover plate to ribbed board and leave enough along the edges to squish out. Once set this can be blended in so seam is invisible. By using the panel bond you get no warpage from welding and it also fills in the grooves between the ribs. Would use at least 16g plate and probably 14g. If your original boards are in good shape others would buy you a set of smoothies and trade even; at least I would.

I'm actually thinking about selling my running boards to get these. Doing more research
