Many GM rear ends used 3 bolts with tapered ends to push a sleeve against the inner race of the front pinion bearing to pre-load the bearing. I think all the ones with torque tubes had them such as AD trucks and my 37 Buick. Question: what did these bolts torque to? I've looked through all my manuals and may just be missing the info but could use a little help here. Pictures show the 3 bolts with locking nuts screwed into the side of the pinion housing.
