Tach in a 53 chevy trucl

I was looking to buy a set of gages the had a tach built in to the two gauge set.
Rod doors, before they want out of business, had a set of gages the had both a tach and speedo as well as the the other gages. Any ideas where to buy these??

I guess I will keep looking, to rich for my blood. Any body has an idea on how to get a tach into the dash???

Sounds like something you would have had the experience doing?
 
When I set up the steering, I pushed the steering wheel in closer to the dash board. What this means is that I don't think that I want a steering columm attachment for the tach. Plus, I am adding the blinker switches on the columm.
I like the idea of a tach on the top of the dash. I guess I need to see a picture. I guess this is all part of the quest.

How cool would this be?

The '54 trucks had, as an accessory, a dash mounted clock that was fitted on the dash in between the gauge pack and speedo. If one of them could be retrofitted on the dash with a period Stewart Warner tach, that would be too cool!:cool:

P.S. Remember that the dash for a '54 vs. the rest of the AD's is different and would take some engineering to fit, but it's a start!

I was thinking of putting the tach between the two gages. how about if I could get a piece of pipe aroud 3-3.5 inches and set it into the dash,then the tach could go into the pipe. Does this sound possable?? How would you get the tach installed into the pipe????
