Has anyone put (2-3 inch) wider fenders on their 47-54 truck? I think I am about to go for it. Will have to go with the flared running boards also.

If anyone has do you have a picture?

Have used several widened fenders. They used to be offered by Speedway but don't find them in their latest catalog. Are still offered by Chev's of the 40's in a 2" wider version. We just left the boards stock width and re-contoured the end that bolts to the rear fender. This one has the Speedway fenders and can accommodate a 10" tire (barely). A 2" wider fender still looks like it belongs but much wider and they look like big bulges hanging off the bed.

As you can see I have some really deep whells on the rear of the truck. We miscalculated the offset of the rim. I would rather just send the rims back have the centers moved about .5 of an inch but my friend cobuilder didn't like the results when he did that with another set.

Classic trucks just had an AD with the wider fenders and it looked really good the bad thing is they are expensive for some good ones. There is a place in Oregon who does the fenders and running boards (wide) expensive but worth it. There is also a place in So Cal that sells junk. I will probably get the good stuff after the first of the year.

Thanks for the pictues.....Ken
