OK, guys, at the risk of amienalating "all of the young dudes" (Mott the Hoople) you guys do in fact rock!!!!!! 1964, the cheifs go to the super bowl, only to get beat by the green bay packers 34-10. I was there. Hank Stram, the best coach ever was. Zig, i hated the KC CHeifs, because i was a houston oiler (AFL, not afc fan). Let's agree to disagree! I love you man !!!!

At the game, eh? Oilers fan eh? That's okay Ken, we all have our flaws... Chiefs colors look better on a ride then Oiler colors, wouldn't you say? Oh, that's right- there ARE no more Oiler colors!:(
    (I just had to- sorry:D )
Back up to almost 70 today! First I'll go fishing (as soon as I get off this thing) then do a bit more stripping on my frame! I spent some time putting a new power steering pump in my Jeep (It's amazing how much smoother it turns now!) I also put a compressor in my Blazer. Didn't get it in quick enough to get it to the shop to get charged... Anyone know if I can hook it up (electrically) and use everything but the air? Just wondering. Ken- you'll be okay. At least you're not a Broncos fan. They have GOTTA' be hurtin' now.

    A/C Compressor

You can hook it all up but you should watch to ensure the low pressure switch prevent thecompressor from cycling on as it wil want to when you use the _defroster_ , this feature is built in to make sure the A/C system gets used in cold weather as cycling the A/C compressor is the only way to circulate the system's oil and this also keep the compressor seals in good shape .

My apologies to Zig. It was 1967, not 1964, the final score was 35-10 (Chiefs still lost). :( Just poking some fun at ya! We are not fortunate enough to have a pro team in Houston anymore! They went away and now live in Nashville (Luv ya Blue! RIP) We do have a group of people impersonating a football team who manage to "Grasp defeat out of the jaws of victory" almost every Sunday. Oh well, maybe we can find someone with enough money to buy the Chiefs and move them to Houston. :D

Mitch Miller...follow the bouncing ball! :p Remember mechanical tuner TV's? And you had your choice of 3 channels: ABC, NBC, and CBS? Did anyone mention Bonanza, The Magical World of Walt Disney or Bewitched (which was sponsered by Chevrolet)? I agree with you, Boops Dad, there have been a lot of changes in the last 40 years and I too don't think that for many of them were good.:( But then again, I am a candidate for Rusk State Hospital!:D

Many thanks Nate- the pressure switch is controlled by the front or aft plug? If I don't plug one of them in I can avoid this problem? I'm just guessing- I can wire a house with my eyes closed, but there is just a total of 4 wires (without getting tooooo fancy) and a pretty clean cut system- no need for anything more complicated than what you want in what room... Auto wiring may be similar- but circuts? Holly hamburger!
Federale- No flammables around? What fun are you?! =^)

Alright Ken, how 'bout Red Skelton and Topo Gejo (sp?) rabbit ears???? High Noon? Black and White or "Living Color"? It's wild that Black and White is a novelty now! It was amazing how much color a person could actually see in B&W! Such times... I ended up being a high school drop out and now I teach 3rd grade... What do you think my message to my students is?:)
A beautiful day today- I have GOT to learn how to post pictures so I can show ya'll what I was just sitting in making driving sounds and pretending to shift gears in...:) 'Course it was pitch black so my neighbors couldn't see me... It's so cool to be able to close the door slowly till you hear that first click, then lean on it quickly to hear that second click and know your door is s-h-u-t! Whadda truck! Must be that GM thing:rolleyes:

further back than I want to admit

You guy's are gettin further back in time than I wanted to go. That means that I MUST admit I'm gettin old. My son says "Dad, look at the bright side - senior citizens discounts are a good thing". HA. The remember when thing was so crazy sounding when my parents did it... Now I'm just glad I can still remember, now if I could just remember what to do with it. We didn't have TV or A/c until I was 10, boy the good old days when we ran down the street after school to watch TV (black and white) on a friends TV. NO nintendo, X-Box, or even commodor. Cokes were 10 cents w/5cents deposit, gas was 19 cents and who cared if your car only got 13 mpg. the picture show was 50 cents and pickles, oh those big pickles 5 cents. Can you guys remember when the picture had to stop because the reel got to slow and burned?

What does this have to do with trucks anyway?

oh well, guess it don't hurt to much to look back when life was a little simpler... like when our trucks were built.

    The Boops Dad :(

Hey Boops Dad, I had the same conversation, or tried to, with my mom, six months ago, when dad died, saying that the '60's and '70'a were the best decades and she set me straight! She told me that it was not, because in the '60's you worried EVERY day about about the Russians "nuking you" and there wasn't anything you could do to stop it. She's a grand old lady, but because of her and dad, i never even thought about the communistic threat! Maybe she's smarter than i thought!

They get smart AGAIN when we get older

Yeh, me too. My parents probably were concerned about things that never crossed my mind. I was busy enjoying life and lookin for love (in all the wrong places - song). My parents have corrected me a few time over the last few years, like, "it was hot with no A/C", "life was hard in the field", "it wasn't easy living on 40$ a week" and the such. I know it must have been and I am thankful they protected me from all those things and let me be a kid. Now it's our turn as parents (even though I only have one left at home(the boop 17 now). I guess thanksgiving is about being thankful for those parents who cared.

    TB'sD :)

I agree federale you guys are OOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. That's okay though I get along better with people that are not my age. Hey Zig you can hook everything up on your compressor, just don't hit the compressor button on the dash or the defrost button. As long as the clutch doesn't engage on the compressor then you have no worries.

I deep fried my turkey for the first time this year. I usually smoke one, but deep friying is awesome. I didn't get to get on here much, in-laws still in town. I've really missed it. Good to hear that you guys had a great thanksgiving.

Hey Ken we stole your oilers. The only difference is they were good when in houston. The first year for us here in Nashville was good. Super Bowl champs, I don't think that is even in their vocabulary any more. I know several of the players (because I work on their cars and they usually hang out with me when I'm working on it) and I usually rag on them a little bit. They all take it pretty well. I've got tickets to the last game of the season against the Patriots. That's my favorite team so I'll be rooting against the Titan's.

    3 stations?

We only got NBC. If it rained and there was low cloud cover and I went out and took a pipe wrnech to the antenna pole, we could get CBS. So, I grew up listening to all my friends talk about the latest episode of MASH but I couldn't watch it. I watched it three times a day when it hit syndication and I hit college. The ones that I don't think you all mentioned that I watched when little was Rawhide and The Virginian. Oh yeah, Palidin, Have Gun will travel!
    You can tell I'm 50.

Had a great TG this year. but I didn't get to work on my truck on any of the 3 days i had off.... and i would like to say thanks for those who helped me out by giving me information, websites, etc... and the reason why I didn't get to work on my truck is because its been very cold and windy.... around 0 to 10 degrees........
