Skeeter's 50. Questions and Build

Patience , Grasshopper

These things take time .

The guy you're talking to , may have watched to many stupid TV Shows and thinks the $100 junker he scored , will be his ticket to riches .

It sounds like junk to me , this isn't a problem as the 235 is mighty hard to kill ~

First thing you needs do is go look at it and get your hands dirty , if it's stuck , it's a $50 core , period . you don't want to overhaul / rebuild one , correct ? .

You're not paying attention here :

good running 235'sa are cheap , plentiful and EVERYWHERE in America ~ the Hor Rodders yank 'em out then still have then lying under a bench or tarp years later and are anxious to get rid of them so $150 for a complete fan to clutch good running 235 is the regular price .

Often cheaper or FREE as they just want rid of that big lump .

Go peruse the task Force pages and look in older threads , everyone who's gone to a V-8 , send them a message asking to buy the old 235 takeout .

This works ~ the few people who follow my advice here , all have cheap or FREE 235's .

Where didja think the high dollar guy who sell them for $1,000 + guaranteed get them from ? .

Nate... you make it sound like good usable 235 motors w/good cores are just laying on the side of the road.... free for the taking :D

Don't know where these mythical $100 235's are but.....

Good luck finding a 50-60 year old used 235 that does not already have a cracked head or cracked block or already bored out .80 over with scored cylinder walls & a crankshaft that has been turned 6 times already.

You're Wrong

As they're out there , Joe's just miffed because I'm sharing Shop Secrets .

If Skeeter just bothered trying instead of giving up , he'd see .

Wow! That is impressive! Who would have known that was under the light blue?

I got a dozen or so 235 & 261 motors stashed.
Not too crazy about loading them in a truck but.....

Its looking good. Was that door art under the paint you scrubbed off? What does it say?

no the white paint was painted around the door sign-age and i just didnt scrub it off becuase its kinda neat. says "steamboat excavation" ive goggled that name and a lot of steamboat SPRINGS construction crews come up tho.
but something is painted on the drivers side door above the signage. all i can make out is C.W. and then thats it. looks like it was brushed on
