    Anyone Have Rear Leaf Springs

Hey guys, I'm looking for a set of original rear leaf springs. It would really be good if you were somewhere close to Texas. Send me a message if you have a pair that you are interested in selling!

    Door Alignment

Thanks for the Heads-Up Nate. I assumed that I would have an even gap if all was aligned properly. She opens and closes whit not too much effort (not necessarily easy, but no longer requires a gorilla). I think rewelding the door skin is a little too extreme, especially for Blue Thunder.

    Door Alignment

I got the door adjusted enough to allow it to close properly now (or at least close and latch without lifting and slamming). Unfortunately, the gaps around the door are not yet correct so I have more adjusting to do. Thanks for the pic, I should have looked at that myself (I often miss the...

    Door Alignment

OK, the passenger door has been poorly aligned since I purchased my truck. I got a new set of hinges hoping that would help. It may have helped but not that I can tell. So, I still have to lift the door when I close it so that it will close and latch. Once closed the gap at the back of the...

    help wanted

I Agree A partial answer to your original question: Post the Vin number in this forum. There is a guy here that can tell you the factory color and some options based on that VIN. It is hard to find an "Original". I wanted a Hot Rod and my first purchase was the Green one, Sequili, that I...

    an introduction and my project

It is definitely possible to mount the axle above the springs, This should give you about a 4 inch drop in the read. Look at Classic Performance Parts, http://www.classicperform.com/ I will be doing this to my modified truck next month. I am still looking for a set of new leaf springs near me...

    Cab replacement question

I bet if you are using the original 59 fenders, then you would use 59 hinges. However, I have not done this and I only have 59s, I don't even have a 56 around to look at for comparison. I know this does not really help, sorry. Too much coffee this morning so I had to speak up even when I...

    Mustang II IFS

I'm still looking for a Camaro front clip. I have found a few in the area for $250 but I have not had time to personally go look at any of them. I am still gathering information on this process and would love to hear from other folks about their experiences doing this.

    1959 Bed Slat

I am looking for an original (non rotted) bed slat. The bed of Blue Thunder is in pretty good shape for an original 50 year old wood bed. Unfortunately, the center slat has two hole cut in it because the guys that moved the gas tank messed up. I would love to keep this original bed since I...

    1959 1/2 Ton Leaf Springs - Rear

I am looking for a full set of rear leaf springs for a Chevy 1/2 Ton Truck. I live near Dallas Texas so it would be helpful if the springs were somewhere near there.

    Seat belts

Those two sites have some great information. I wish I had seen them before I purchased and installed lap belts. I may go ahead and install three point belts in my modified truck anyway just because these two sites make it look so easy. Thanks!

    Mustang II IFS

I had not looked into replacing the entire front clip and I had no idea they could be found that cheap. I will spend some time looking at junk yards around here and see what I can find. Something like that could really help my budget :D!

    Mustang II IFS

OK, I am ready to tear the truck down for the winter. One of the projects I intend to tackle is Mustang II IFS. So, as usual, I have a few questions for those of you who have done this..... I see kits ranging from $1,200 to $2,500 that are specifically intended to be used in a 1959 Chevy...

    Battery relocation/Bobby's 57

Thanks for the write-up. That looks very nice and I would love to move my battery. Looks like yet another project for Blue Thunder this winter.

    Almost done part 2

No problem. You are doing much more important things. I am fed up with the heat here so I would not be working on my truck even if I had the springs already.

    Almost done part 2

The truck looks great! I really like what you have done with the battery.

    1959 Clutch Replacement

Yep. I did all of that and I can move from first to reverse without any noise but I do need to move pretty slowly. I did replace the pilot bushing (actually got a bearing with the clutch kit instead of a bushing). My real issue is that the entire clutch linkage has a little play/give at...

    1959 Clutch Replacement

Sequili is back up and running. I got all of the parts back in and I did not have anything left over. I got up early on Saturday, made one last trip to the auto parts store for cotter pins, some replacement lock washers, and gear oil. I managed to get the new flywheel in place and torqued...
