I had the prostate biopsy last week and found out today that they found cancer in two spots. I'm weighing the treatment options now.

Robert, I speak from experience here so listen closely! Be very aggressive! Have them remove the prostate gland and then have radiation treatments! Dad survived that for 14 years and if it hadn't been for his heart condition, he would have lasted longer! Hang tough and have regular PSA checks after that and if it changes, even slightly, get your ass to the doctor (pun intended).

Get rid of the bad stuff, let prayers take care of the rest. You know you have a "Phill Spector" wall of (prayer) here for you, right?

Radioactive pellets
Not sure how long ago the folks had radical prostatectomies
. I've got two friends who have gotten the radioactive pellets and they are doing great. Believe it or not, even the VA Hospital here uses them.
The complication of leaking is much less
. I'll ask our weekly prayer group to raise you up as well! We got a small but powerful connection. The picture below is of Bethesda Church. I spent the last four months remodeling the basement meeting room. We can now serve food at our annual car show.
This church goes back to 1792, originally a log cabin that served as meeting hall, church, school and fort. You could get scalped going to church in those days. Speedy and uneventful recovery neighbor!

This is really important to attack agressivly ! don't spend time worryng , get ride of the prostate ASAP .
We'll be here for you every step of the way , yes I know it's scary but you can do this .
Please read up on " Snowbum "s site , he detailed every step of they road you're now on and it had bmps yes but he's still up and about , riding his Moto and living .
Mt father is a Oncologist and I know and hate this insideious disease .
If you don't treat it , you may wind up liking JIMMYS for pete's sake ! (I just had to kick Ken there , sorry)
PSA checks are important from now on , follow the change in your pesonal numbers , this allows earlier detection of any fallback .

Robert, I just had (turp) prostate surgery Dec. 4th . (roto rootered)
My doctor watched my PSA regularly and caught it in time, I was lucky no cancer.
Every thing is now back to normal. I am 75 and now I can write my name in the snow.
Like all the guys said, get it handled. We want you around.

By all means get it taken care of quick. You are in my prayers.
I'ts too late for me, I have about 6 - 9 months left, pancreatic cancer has now moved into my liver.
I at least know what I need to give to each of the kids, and can get rid of the rest of the junk. I'll not leave a mess for them to sort through.

Thank you all for your support and well wishes. I'm weighing my my treatment options at the moment. I'm leaning towards having it removed robotically. I encourage those of you over forty to have an exam. Prostate cancer is the leading cancer among men. As I found out, a low score does not necessarily mean that there is no cancer present. In the past, most doctors considered PSA values below 4.0 ng/ml as normal. Recent research has found prostate cancer in men with PSA levels below 4.0 ng/ml. My score was a 2.68. If you have not done so already, get tested.

Sorry to hear of this glad it is being caught early. Get it taken care of asap, and stay as possitive as possible to help go through it.
Here's hoping for the best possible outcome and kudos to you for being aware and staying on top of the situation. My Urologist has me on a twice a year schedule and hammers on the fact that early detection is the key. Very high success rate when caught early.

I had the radioactive seed implants 5 yaers ago when I was 62. Ihave not had any leaking or other side affects. I have my PSA checked every 6 months and it is 0. The procedure is basicly the same as the biopsy.Check into it.If you have any questions just let me know.
