Yep, the company is a combination of Massey Harris and Ferguson ( I believe they combined in the late 60s). Ferguson was formerly Ford -Ferguson but broke up when Ferguson felt that Henry Ford mistreated him. Ferguson was the originator of the 3 point hitch system and made tractors on his own after the split with Ford.
I'm not sure about the dates but I think this is a short version of the events.

Last night while getting ready to go to sleep I realized that MF is Massey Ferguson.... Called my Father In Law, and he doesn't know what year it is, but it's a 283. He thinks it's around 1998 or 99. His other tractor is a John Deere 4020, bought by his Dad around 1950... It's been in the family forever. Here's a little better pic of the Tractor...

Thanks for the other photo and info on the Massey. Here is a foto of my favorite Massey; 1936 MH Challenger rowcrop.

Who's the driver? My driver is my Father In Law. 80 yrs old, works every day outside, in South Texas, no less. He's always available to help me with my truck if I need it. Also provides some old fashioned advice now and then.:)

That is me on the Challenger a few years ago.
It is good to see you and your Father in Law working together, I kind of wish my Son in Laws were closer so I could help out with some of their projects.

No, the photos are in southern California and central western Arizona. Have some brothers and sisters and some Aunts in Southern Texas. But I think the photos look a lot like around Hudspeth Co. Texas just west of Sierra Blanca if I were to guess where you were thinking of.

Worked on the truck weekend of Aug. 19-22. Had to make a quick trip down to Corpus Christi, as my Father-in-Law stirred up a nest of "Killer Bees" whilst clearing brush with a open Cab Dozer. Wound up hospitalized with 200+ bee stings. He's home next day... doing OK. Pretty tough for an Old Geezer of 81 I should say... Think the world of Him, too.
To keep him close to home for a couple of days, we worked on the truck a little. Got the engine, Bell Housing, clutch/Pressure Plate, Transmission, and driveshaft installed. Moved the cab into position and bolted down as well. Pretty happy about that part of the weekend. Almost ready to trailer 'Clarabelle' home to Magnolia.... Here's a couple of pictures.

Are you going with the passenger car blue engine rather than the truck's gray ?.

Yeah, I'm not a real stickler for the all original stuff, as my truck is s'posed to be just a 'good lookin' old truck' when it's done. Nothing for show. Gonna drive it around now and then, pick up the grandkids and go for ice cream, stuff like that.;)

    I'm loving it!

So you're painting your truck as well, huh? By the time I get back to painting the hood, fenders, and running boards, I'm going to have to relearn everything!
Your truck is coming along great! I love the two tone look! (If not three tone! :D)
    Great color choices!
