need later 235

im plannin on rebuiding a 235 for my truck but i have a 51 so the motor i have doesnt have the appropriate oiling system for my plans i need to find a later 235 out a 54 or newer.anyone got one or know where i can find one? i found a couple online but the people sold em already.

Nothing wrong with a 54-57 but the 58-62 have several better features. Mike's 1960 would be worth checking out.

What are the better features of the '58-'62? I am about to put a '60 235 into a '57 3200 which has its original 235. Do you know what is not interchangeable? I plan to take rebuilt parts and , other items off my '57 235. Any differences I should be aware of?

I have a 58-235 short block with 5000 miles on it. It has .40 forged pistons, shot peened and I beam ground rods with ARP rod bolts, balanced, with a Hi performance cam and a custom built 8Qt. oil pan. This engine spun a rod bearing. It needs to have the bearing journal on the crank welded and reground and 1 rod resized. It wouldn't take much to get this block back in shape. 500.00 for the short block 600.00 with a good buildable head. Located in Sonora Ca. Big Tim

The main difference is the 58 and up no longer used shims on any bearings, just replacement shells like all modern bearings. Not sure but maybe the 882 head was introduced also.
