old49chevys restoration thread

That is absolutely beautiful! It must be nice to have that kind of talent. Can't wait to see the final product!

Zoom-Zoom!

This is great! Glad you are using your skills wisely!! Very impressive. Thanks for the pictures and updates

I was checking out your thread....its great, brings back lots of memories.

About the Stainless side pieces in the bed.....I bought a stainless endcap from a guy on ebay. It covers the end of the strips and is "L" shaped. Gives a finished look too. Hides the dimple in the center strips. Was reasonably priced from a guy named "Big Bucks".

It would prolly cover that 3/4" gap except where the bolt is on the bedwall.

More pictures

overheating

Hey, haven't Been on here much lately.. Was looking for some advice on cooling systems. Last summer during July-August my truck was running 210-225 with the a/c on. Without the a/c on it was running about 200. I have a 3 row aluminum champion radiator, core size 20.75x19.5x2.5. becool electronic puller fan 16" with 3140 cfm. An edelbroch high flow water pump. 160 thermostat. 160 fan switch. Was wondering if there is a better radiator or something, maybe one made of copper? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Jesse.

Hot Running

You might want to look at both the ignition timing and the mixture using a SMOG sniffer ~ it might be running too lean or many the timing is off a bit .
