Photo Update of my '51

I just thought I would post a few pictures of the status of my '51 resto.

Thanks to a lot of people on this forum, I have made some significant progress this winter despite the unusually cold weather in Texas.

I managed to get the windshield in yesterday with the help of my neighbor. It only took one hour, two ounces of blood and more expletives than could be counted.

I did find it helpful in the windshield install to secure at least two of the screws in the center retainer bar. This kept the windshield from shifting to the side or popping out in the center.

Now I am waiting for the bed wood to arrive from JC.

Lookin' good! We're sooo! cold up here in Tennessee I haven't been in my garage all winter. But, your giving me the urge to get out there. I left off with my bedwood as well. Its all stained, but waiting for some nice weather so I can take my time on it. Its all stained and ready. That green is the classic color isn't it! Can't wait to see the bed on.

Green really looks good on an AD. Sorta like MONEY. 2-oz of blood is pretty cheap compared to the years service you will get. Who knows how long thes will last when taken care of. Thanks for the pictures!

Very nice and pretty darn correct too with white behind the grill bars and the oil skin looking seat cover material. I read where green was the standard color and any other was an extra cost option---probably five bucks or so back then.

Russ, that is a correct statement for '53-54 trucks. '48 thru '52, the standard color was called Forester green. And yes, one had 12 colors to choose from at no extra cost.

Ken beat me to it. The correct color for my '51 is Forester Green. This is a close a match as the PPG system could get.

It's just slightly darker than the Juniper Green.

Darn, Greg, you'd have to be sharp eyed to tell them apart. I always thought they just changed the name, not the color. Here is a Juniper green one we did in the same vain as your's and if they were parked side by side I wouldn't know which one to poke the key into.

That's Beautiful!

Greg, nice job! I'm sorry, but when I started looking at the pictures of your truck, my eye caught that pool behind your house and that's where my attention went to.:p Looks like you not only have a great truck, but a beautiful house and surround as well!:cool:

You've done a fantastic job on that and I'm sure you can't wait to get it finished. You are soooo close!

My bed wood arrived yesterday only it was the wrong set!:mad:
I received a 7-board set and I need an 8-board set. Hopefully, I will have the right set before the end of the week.
