Thanks for the info on the wheels! I have one question: My '51 has 7/16" wheel studs and these wheels are for 1/2" studs. Should I be concerned about this? Thanks

BTW: www.etrailer.com has the 15x6 wheels, ecoat primed and powdercoated black, for $49.95 per wheel - with FREE shipping (on orders over $150) Sounds like a pretty good deal at $199.80 for all 4 wheels DELIVERED. They also have 16" for a little more. What do you think?

Hey Nate, you seem to know a great deal about these trucks. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Brian

    Brian ;

I use stock 16" wheels with good quality Radial LT tires so I don't have to consider the various issues with aftermarket wheels .

Basically , if the off set is close , they'll be fine .

As far as the 7/16" Vs. 1/2" studs , I'd be leery of this but as long as the lug nut has proper contact , you should be fine .

I'd not do this on my own or a customers truck .

Others here prolly know more than do I about aftermarket wheels , why I was silent before .

Thanks Nate. Sure wish they had them with the 7/16 stud size, that would have been a killer deal! Guess I'll keep looking for some 15x6's (or 7's) in the 6 lug pattern.

    Hello from Istanbul to everyone

Wolf, I have 1954 Chevy 3/4 ton truck. I will buy 8 lug new steel wheel (AM20766) from etrailer.com too...

I want to use baby moon hubcaps as you. I want with red "chevrolet" letters moon hubcaps (47-53).

Seller said that 47/53 3/4 ton with letters hubcaps outside diameter is 11 inch , inner is 9 inch. I dont want without chevy letters hubcaps.

Can I use this hubcaps with AM20766 ? Thank you..

Well hello! Sorry i actually sold this truck last summer. The hub caps I got for my truck were from Jim Carters. They were exact replicas of my original ones. My original ones basically turned to swiss cheese after the sand blasting. But they fit those rims perfect. I did have to custom make the clips that held them on.

Has anyone else had issues with aftermarket rims.
I just purchased some trailer rims and am starting to get worried they might not fit.

Worst case scenario spacers are an option?

This is why I keep answering questions on my post "New wheels and tires". I don't want to buy something that won't work. Why do some trucks have 8 lugs vs. 6 lug, or 15" vs. 16"? Was this a Chevy option or a difference of 3100 vs. 3600 or Chevy vs. GMC thing?

Also note OP has clips for hub cap. Those are missing on a lot of wheels currently for sale. I have looked all through Dexter website and cannot find what I need.

3100/3200 Chevy trucks (and 100 series GMC trucks) were half ton models. They all had 6 lug hubs with a 5.5" circle. 3600 Chevy trucks (and 150 series GMCs) were 3/4 ton trucks. 3800 Chevy trucks (and 250 series GMCs) were 1 ton trucks. Both the 3/4 ton and 1 ton use 8 lug hubs with a 6.5" circle.

I don't have specs for 1/2 ton Chevy wheels in the early 50s, but GMC offered these wheels:

    Diameter Width
    15" 5.5"
    15" 5.0"
    16" 4.5"
    16" 5.5"
    18" 4.0"

When GMC started selling NAPCO 4wd, they also offered a 17.5" diameter wheel.
