1949 Chevy 3600......making it a daily driver!!

I love the work you're doing Mike. Having that talent to weld really opens up the possibilities. I don't think that will have any problems with applied torque!

Punch list is getting smaller:

* Mount front shocks
* mount master cylinder
* Run brake lines
* bleed brake system
********Test Drive*********

* Install bed
* Tailights
* Trique Latch Install
* Weather Stripping
* Stereo
* Seat Rebuild

Boxing The Frame

I'd love to have this done to my frame , I want it otherwise stock but frame flexing is an issue when I hit the twisty bits in the canyons....

Keep punchin' out the punch list! This is an awesome build. You've played no small role in lighting a fire under me to get back to work on my truck. I've been out in the garage the past two days...

Welding

Pretty easy to do Nate.

For you , yes .

Me , not so much .

I can do many things but body work and welding are beyond my grasp .

I can just imagine how much better it'd handle those canyons once the frame was boxed in.....

I love surprising others in my old 6 Bangers , I don't actually go fast but no one who doesn't know me , expects to see some old battered rig come flying down The Angeles Crest Highway :D .

Sorry....updates have been slow. There has been very little progress lately, and nothing worth photographing!!

Floor pans are repair. The rust was not horrible so I just used some galv 18 gauge I had left over from some other projects. After I figure out the new hole in the floor for the dual master cylinder, I will peal and seal the floor and install the mat Newfisher sent me........

The headliner was shot and removed last summer. The left over insulation and glue has been now removed after a messy hour ordeal with a wire wheel on a 4-1/2" grinder. Now ready to install peal and seal and eventually figure out something for a headliner.

My residual pressure valves showed up yesterday......so I may start on the brakes this weekend. Maybe........

Little or nothing in the form of forward progress this past weekend.

RH front shock is mounted but I did not get around to the LH side.

I drove all over town and got stuff from all three auto parts stores to get my all my brake stuff lined up.

Thinks I have all the fittings I need to get it done....hopefully!!

Today I was working on some other projects, so Henry go pulled out into the driveway. 8 hours later....we had 8+ inches of snow. yuck!!

Plugging along!!

Brake light, tail light and blinker wiring ran to back of truck.

Front end completely greased and cotter keyed.

Brake lines ran. Started the bleeding process and am having a heck of a time with the prop valve tripping. I am just going to order the tool to keep it centered and some speed bleeders to ease the process

Great pics, like always! I?m also thinking about the installation of these latches,
as i have to slam shut the drivers door pretty bad:(

What about your doors, do they close with ease, or do you have to slam them also, just curious?

I?m really looking forward to the final result of your ride.

My drivers side latch is shot, and the passenger side took a heck of a slam to latch solidly.
